All investigations are conducted within the guidelines of NFPA 921involving a systematic approach to the inspection and documentation of the fire scene. FOC conducts comprehensive fire scene examinations, submits detailed reports, and when necessary provides expert testimony for fire losses along with case review and analysis.We reconstruct, as closely as possible, the original condition of structure, equipment, appliances, or vehicles. This enables us not only to determine where and how a fire started, but also to recognize what may have been altered, destroyed, removed from the fire scene prior to our inspection.The company has been operating since 1998, the president, and principal investigator of the company has over thirty (30) years experience as a fire investigator in both the public and private sectors. He is a Certified Fire Investigator with the International Association of Arson Investigators, a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator with National Association of Fire Investigators, a Certified Fire Investigator with the California Conference of Arson Investigators and with the California State Fire Marshal's Office. Rick Grunbaum is also a certified Hazardous Materials Technician and because of this, he is able to enter those fire scenes where normal access would not be permitted. The company is licensed and insured in the State of California. Rick Grunbaum holds a Community College Teaching Credential and has instructed numerous classes in the field of fire investigation to both the fire service and insurance industry.Ongoing specialized study and education in the field fire and arson investigations, electrical fires, appliance examination and analysis, and other related technical subjects are attended by investigators yearly.
